The South Glos Show is nearly here! It will be held on the 5th and 6th of August, so come along and visit us. This year marks the fourth year, with The Gregor Heating Main Arena at the very heart of the show. So, what exciting things can you expect this year?

The Ham National

For those who like watching theracing, you’ll love The Ham National. The pig race is raising money for the 2017 South Glos Show charity, Meningitis Now. The race will have a commentary from Joel Dommett, a local comedian – that should help to ham it up a bit!  The happy pigs taking part are trained, family pets so make sure to come along and cheer on your favourite.

Food Festival

The South Glos Show wouldn’t be complete without a delicious feast of food! With something for everyone, there will be foods from all around the world and a. wide variety of cuisine to try. From hot, sugared donuts to classic delicious sausages, there will be something to tickle even the fussiest eaters taste buds!

Any Masterchef fans? Discover more about the delicious fresh ingredients used on the cooking shows we all love and get to know the local food producers themselves.

Something for the whole family.

Get the whole family involved at the Kid’s Zone. Visit the circus workshop, watch the Punch & Judy show or try your hand at stilt walking. Due to popularity last year, the Banana Brain Show is back – keeping the kids and parents laughing all weekend. Fantastic entertainment for children of all ages, the company are even one of the top warm-ups for children’s BBC.

Rockwood Dog Display.

Brand new for 2017, head back over to the Gregor Heating Main Arena for a display that is not to be missed. The talented members of the Rockwood Dog Display perform agility and obedience skills with a twist. The display will also feature the relay race, where it is all about finding who the fastest dog in town is.

Can you handle a more adrenaline –filled performance?

The Steve Colley Motorbike Stunt Show is also being held at the main arena, a must-watch show. Steve has more than a few titles to his name – he is 3 times British Solo Trials Champion and 4 times winner of the Scottish Six Days Trial to name just a couple. One of the only trial riders in the world who is courageous enough to perform the famous ‘Mono’ bike stunt – you’ll be seeing a bike with no brakes or front wheel! He’ll be performing both days, so ensure you schedule this in to your South Glos Show plans.
