3.1 This promotion is only available to customers who qualify as a Which? Subscriber with Full Access, Digital, Magazine, Tech Support, Money, Gardening or Travel membership and Which? Employees.

3.2 Eligibility may require proof of membership or participation at the time of ordering.

3.3 The promotion applies to standard domestic Solar PV installations and excludes non-standard works unless expressly agreed in writing.

3.4 Eligible Which? members and employees will receive a 5% discount on the total cost of their Solar PV system installation.

3.5 We will pay Which? a 5% referral fee on qualifying installations completed under this promotion. This payment is made by us and does not affect the discount applied to your order.

3.6 The promotional offer is valid for a fixed period of 12 months, commencing on 1 October 2025 and ending on 30 September 2026. Orders must be placed within this period to qualify.

4. Ordering & Contract

4.1 A contract is formed when we confirm acceptance of your order in writing following survey and approval.

4.2 Orders are subject to site survey, DNO (Distribution Network Operator) approval, and confirmation of roof suitability.

4.3 If material changes are required following survey, we will issue a revised quotation for your approval. If you do not accept, we will refund your deposit in line with Section 8 (Cancellation).

4.4 Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. After this period, we reserve the right to amend prices to reflect changes in material or labour costs.

5. Pricing & Payment

5.1 Prices are quoted inclusive of 0% VAT where eligible under current government rules for domestic Solar PV installations.

5.2 Deposit and staged payment terms follow our standard company process, confirmed at order stage. Final payment must be received before completion documentation is released.

5.3 Title to goods remains with us until full payment is received.

5.4 If any staged or interim payment is not received by the agreed due date, we may suspend work until payment is made. We also reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.

6. Installation

6.1 All installations are carried out by appropriately qualified and accredited personnel. We are MCS certified and TrustMark registered.

6.2 You agree to provide safe access, a clear workspace, and availability of services (electricity, Wi-Fi if required) for the installation.

6.3 We will take reasonable care to minimise disruption and protect surfaces, but minor making-good and redecoration are excluded.

6.4 Installation dates may change due to weather, supply chain or DNO approvals. We will notify you as soon as possible of any delays.

6.5 We will take before and after photographs of the installation for record-keeping and quality assurance purposes.

6.6 Installation may be delayed or temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions where, in our professional judgment, it is unsafe or impractical to proceed.

6.7 Standard installation pricing excludes non-standard works such as significant roof strengthening, asbestos removal, electrical system upgrades, or works required by third parties. Where such works are identified, we will issue a revised quotation.

6.8 You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions or consents (for example, landlord’s approval or planning permission). We will advise where permissions may be required and support you in the process. If permissions cannot be obtained, we will refund your deposit less any reasonable costs incurred.

7. Warranties & Documentation

7.1 Manufacturer warranties apply to the panels, inverter(s), and other equipment supplied. Specific durations depend on brand and product.

7.2 SunPower panels come with a 30-year comprehensive manufacturer warranty covering parts, labour, and replacement. Other brands may carry shorter or different warranties, confirmed at the quotation stage.

7.3 Inverters come with a 10-year warranty as standard, with upgrade options depending on brand.

7.4 We provide a 5-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty covering our installation work.

7.5 On completion and receipt of full payment, we will provide your MCS certificate, Building Control notification (if applicable), and handover documentation.

7.6 Warranties may be void if equipment is damaged due to misuse, neglect, unauthorised modification, or failure to maintain internet connectivity for monitoring (where applicable).

8. Cancellation Rights

8.1 You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of acceptance under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

8.2 If you request an early installation date within the cooling-off period, you acknowledge that your right to cancel may be affected.

8.3 If you cancel after we have incurred third-party costs (e.g., scaffolding or DNO fees) at your request, we may deduct these reasonable costs from your refund.

8.4 After the statutory period, our standard cancellation terms apply.

9. Customer Obligations

9.1 You are responsible for maintaining internet connectivity and ensuring your broadband service remains active, as interruptions may cause the inverter monitoring system to go offline.

9.2 You are responsible for keeping the monitoring application installed and active on your mobile device if you wish to track system performance.

9.3 You agree to inform us in advance of any works by third parties (e.g. scaffolders, roofers, or builders) which may affect the system, so that we can advise on safe procedures.

9.4 We are happy to assist you in restoring system operation if issues arise (for example, following a broadband change or accidental app deletion). However, such assistance will be chargeable at our standard call-out and service rates.

9.5 You are responsible for ensuring your property has adequate buildings insurance to cover any potential risks associated with installation and operation of the system.

10. Liability

10.1 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be limited by law.

10.2 We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of savings or income. Our liability for direct loss is limited to the contract price paid.

10.3 We cannot be held responsible for issues or damage outside of our control, including but not limited to:

  • Interruptions or changes to your broadband service;
  • Loss or deletion of the monitoring application on your device;
  • Damage caused by third parties (including scaffolders, builders, or other contractors). 10.4 While we take care to prevent damage, we are not liable for pre-existing structural weaknesses in your roof or property. Any accidental damage caused directly by our installation team will be repaired by us at our expense. 10.5 Performance estimates are provided in good faith using industry-standard methods. Actual system output will vary depending on weather, shading, and other environmental factors. We cannot guarantee a specific level of generation, savings, or return on investment.

11. Grid Connection & Export

11.1 All installations are subject to DNO approval. If the DNO requires system modifications, export limitations, or network upgrades, any associated costs are your responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.

11.2 We will assist you in applying for export payments or tariffs, but final acceptance onto such schemes is at the discretion of your energy supplier and outside our control.

12. Force Majeure

12.1 We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under this Agreement where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disasters, acts of government, labour disputes, power outages, supply chain interruptions, or other circumstances commonly recognised as force majeure.

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 As members of RECC, if at any time a dispute arises between you and us that cannot be resolved, you can refer the matter to be handled through RECC’s dispute resolution procedure. See recc.org.uk for details.

13.2 Disputes that relate to MCS Installer Standards can be referred to our MCS Certification Body.

14. Governing Law

14.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
